Augusta comes in from the northeast and never touches Wichita traffic. Like Andover it is a Butler County town, so the license is issued in El Dorado. Worth knowing before anyone drives to the wrong courthouse on the wrong afternoon.
Which marriage license do we need for a wedding here?
A Kansas marriage license is issued by any Kansas district court clerk and is valid anywhere in the state. The county that issues it does not have to be the county you marry in. Kansas applies a three-day waiting period between application and issue, and the license is good for six months. The fee runs about $85 as of 2026.
